What we collect when you visit modus-horlogerie.com or buy a watch, why we collect it, and how to exercise your rights.

Who we are

Modus Horlogerie is a brand of INOVEA GROUP SAS, 21 avenue Guy de Collongue, 69130 Écully, France. For any privacy question or request: contact@modus-horlogerie.fr.

What we collect

Identifiers and contact details: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number.
Order information: the watches you buy, your configuration, engraving text or logo, order history.
Payment information: handled by Shopify and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
Messages you send us: emails, contact form, after-sales requests.
Browsing data: pages viewed, device and browser, approximate location (country) from your IP address, and, if you accept cookies, analytics and advertising identifiers.

How we use it

To process, ship and deliver your order, and to handle returns and the 3-year warranty.
To answer your questions and provide customer service.
To send you our emails, only if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To measure how the site is used and how our ads perform, only if you accept cookies.
To prevent fraud and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Shopify, which runs our store and checkout, and our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal).
DHL Express, to deliver your order and clear U.S. customs on your behalf.
For custom watches, the workshop that assembles and ships your watch (name, shipping address and watch specification).
Our email provider, to send order and newsletter emails.
If you accept cookies: Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta, Microsoft (Clarity and Bing), TikTok and Pinterest, to measure visits and ads.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and your choices working. Analytics and advertising cookies only load after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookies" link at the bottom of every page.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; get a copy of it; ask us to correct or delete it; and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

In the past 12 months we collected the categories listed above (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, approximate geolocation) from you directly, from your browser, and from our payment and shipping providers, for the purposes described in this policy. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

We don't sell personal information. Advertising cookies from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and Pinterest may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. They only load if you accept them, and you can opt out anytime by declining cookies through the "Cookies" link in the footer.

To make a request, email contact@modus-horlogerie.fr with the subject "Privacy request". We verify your identity by matching your email address and order number, and reply within 45 days. You can also use an authorized agent, who must provide your written permission.

Other US states

If your state gives you similar privacy rights (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas), the same email address works for all requests. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.

How long we keep it

Order information is kept for as long as needed for the warranty and our accounting obligations (up to 10 years under French law). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Where your data is processed

We are based in France and our providers process data in the European Union and the United States. Your information is protected by contractual safeguards with each provider.
